The bookies learned their lesson last season with the often discussed 5000-1 odds for Leicester. They have released their championship odds for each club prior to the start of the season.

We heard the story just about every news story for the last few weeks of the 14/15 EPL season. Leicester City had been predicted to win the EPL championship on 5000 to 1 odds. After a remarkable season, and several lucky betters, the odds makers have clearly learned their lesson when setting the wages for this season.

You won’t find any 5000-1 chances this season, in fact 1500-1 is the largest payout option. At the top of the charts, and pegged to win the EPL this year by the bookies, is Manchester City at 9/4 odds. In total six clubs have at least a 10/1 odds set for the campaign:

  • Manchester City: 9/4
  • Manchester United 3/1
  • Chelsea: 5/1
  • Arsenal: 6/1
  • Liverpool: 8/1
  • Tottenham: 10/1

The lowest bets went to Hull City this year at 1500/1 who are in the middle of ownership issues and didn’t bring in a single new player. However, as we saw this morning the bookies already have the slightly bit to worry about as Hull City upset reigning champions Leicester City 2-1. Other interesting odds for winning the title are Leicester at 28/1 to repeat, while West Ham are at 80/1 in their new home.

The bookies also released the chances for being relegated and as you can imagine the three newly promoted teams are the most likely to go back down.

  • Hull City: 4/7
  • Burnley: 1/1
  • MIddlesbrough: 7/4

Manchester City lead this table as well, at 1000/1 odds, the team least likely to be relegated. Behind there are top 4 staple Arsenal at 1000/1. The most surprising relegation bet is that Leicester has been set as 14/1 to drop the season following their title.
