While he has made appearances in City’s promotion YouTube videos and new kit reveals, Nasri has been sidelined for the real action and looks to be heading out soon.

City dropped their last pre-season friendly yesterday to Arsenal, and it looks like they are about to part ways with a former Gunner as well. Sky Sports sources are reporting that Nasri is not wanted as part of Pep’s new setup and is being shopped to teams in Serie A. With the influx of new talent being brought in on the attacking side, along with Guardiola’s comments about his weight Samir’s fate seems sealed at City.

“Samir arrived back a little overweight but he is much, much better now. He has fought a lot during these weeks (in China) but he is a little bit overweight.”

Nasri’s first four years in Manchester would be considered a success. He averaged about 40 matches and 6 goals across competitions in those four seasons, as City won two Premier League titles. However, last year due to injuries, fitness and preference he only featured in 8 games and scored once.

Sky’s report indicates that Italian sides Roma, AC Milan and Inter Milan are all looking at him. Truthfully those would all be great moves for Nasri who has little chance of playing at City now, and has given up national team football for France. Roma is in the Champions League, and Inter are in the Europa, giving his opportunities to regain his relevancy.

City have tagged him at 17 million pounds, which would be a good return for someone not playing and whom they purchased for around 25 million. At 29 he still has several good years left in him, and will hopefully accept an offer to move and get regular playing time.

Do you believe that moving Nasri out before the start of the season is a good move, or should Pep try him for at least one year?
