Critical piece of the Borussia Dortmund midfield that helped the team reach the UEFA Champions League finale in 2012/13 and claim the Bundesliga title in 2011/12. After a 150 appearances and 15 goals for the high intensity team the German international has made the switch the Premier League. While he may not be fit for the first few matches of the season, he will likely be the new signing to have the biggest impact in the first few months of the season. As new players it will be interesting to see how he and Sane can form a connection in their push to establish themselves as starters. A very well rounded player, he is mentally strong, covers the back line with ease, and brings creativity to benefit City’s wingers and strikers getting into dangerous positions. Best case scenario, at only 25 he pushes Yaya all season and eventually claims the starting role.
