Manchester City’s strongest position are the midfielders, defensive mids, two-way, wingers, etc. Here we rank their top 10 midfielder players, in part 1 we look at 10 through 6.
As the 2016/17 season draws close it is time to take stock of the players on the squad. While the transfer window still has a few weeks, and Manchester City will definitely be signing other players, this is a ranking of the teams top midfielder players at the moment. Note, we moved Raheem Sterling into the Forward position rankings, which you can read here.
#10 – Samir Nasri
After appearing in over 30 matches in the 14/15 season, Narsi only played 8 times last season and netted one goal missing some time due to injury. He did not take part in France’s EURO Championship run to the final, so he should be fresh. Typically getting a new manager after not appearing a lot is a good thing for the player. However, it comes down to whether or not Nasri is what Pep is looking for. While Samir enjoys interchanging play and keeping the ball at his feet, there are a lot of similar (and better) players ahead of him on the squad. At 29, if Nasri doesn’t break through and contribute to City this year, he could be on his way out come next summer.
