Manchester City: Predicting the starting day line-up

Nicolas Otamendi

With the absence of captain Vincent Kompany for the first game of the season, it seems as though Otamendi would be second in the pecking order behind the Belgian. With the exception of a few shaky games last season, Otamendi managed to put in a lot of very solid performances by the end of the season. His tough tackling sometimes landed him in a bit of trouble; however, most of the time his last ditch tackling is on point. There were a few occasions last year where the Argentine saved us at the back. His impressive ball playing abilities and comfort in possession will also stand him in good stead with the new boss.
