The Even More Unlikely

Paul Pogba, Juventus, 23, Midfield

I wasn’t sure whether to leave this one to last because maybe you are all sick of reading/hearing about Pogba by now. I can understand why. Since his unceremonious shedding from United, the voices for his playing in Manchester have been getting louder by the year. Heck, we went through the same thing last Summer too, now here we are again.

Recent reports have almost universally claimed City are out on Pogba. Why? I don’t know. Perhaps he doesn’t fit with Pep’s vision, or his asking price is too astronomical even for a player or his calibre, or he would be more trouble than he’s worth. It’s kind of hard to say. He’s an incredibly good player and as desirable right now as just about anyone, why else would Real Madrid genuinely consider pawning a Gallactico to get him?

My advice is that we all forget about Paul Pogba, for one reason or another it doesn’t seem like he’ll be a blue any time soon. I’d be happy to be proved wrong, but, as we discussed before, it does Manchester City no good to chase after shadows that they never had a chance of obtaining or don’t even really need. Furthermore, entering into a bidding war simply because United think they have a chance of bringing him back to Old Trafford after they mistreated him to the point of tears, is reactionary and foolish.

Sure he’d be the perfect acquisition, but perfect can be the enemy of good.
