Manchester City signing news and rumours all in one relatively convenient place, with commentary and opinions thrown in for good measure.

You know, the transfer window hasn’t even officially opened this year yet and I’m already sick of it. Imagine this as a recipe for drama on the internet – Manchester City are getting a new manager who happens to be Pep Guardiola and ownership are giving him a blank cheque to make the team in his image. Think about how many players out there who, if they didn’t want to play for and develop under Pep, are chomping at the bit to get jump on the money train and triple their current wages. It’s crazy.

Throw all these things together and the fact you have media publications contractually obligated to provide content, no matter how tenuous, and you’ve got a scenario where City are linked with just about every football player in the world. Wouldn’t surprise me to find my own name come up somewhere under a carefully worded, click-bait if you will, title from the Manchester Evening News. Yet none of these things are either happening or likely to happen, it’s maddening.

All we know right now for absolute certain is Ilkay Gundogan is a blue and hey, that’s not such a bad thing at all. He’s just the engine that the team needs and is an absolute steal at around £20 million. All the same,  Gundogan is just the beginning, there still exist gaping holes in which we tried to plug in players likely to see the door this close season, like Wilfried Bony and potentially anyone from the back four.

So, let’s take a step back and look again at where we are with transfers and rumours. Which names are floating about? How likely is it we’ll see them next season at Manchester City? I can’t promise any of this will be relevant even tomorrow, but I’ll try to keep you appraised as things shift and change too. With that, let’s begin…
