Manchester City signing news and rumours all in one relatively convenient place, with commentary and opinions thrown in for good measure.

Finding it a bit tough to keep up to date with the latest Manchester City gossip? Unable to distinguish between rumours with an actual basis and clickbait twaddle pulled out of thin air by the Daily Star and their ilk? Frustrated by constantly seeing an exciting potential signing story, only to finish reading and see the source is the Daily Star and their ilk anyway? Well we’ve got you covered.

Starting today and, hopefully, once a week, Man City Square are going to heap all the player signings and rumours together to give you the low-down on where things stand, how the player would fit into the squad next season and give a feeling for the likelihood of the move planning out.

Picked a good close-season to give this type of article series a try, didn’t we? Incoming Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola may not be officially installed at the helm until July, but he’s still pulling many strings behind the scenes and he’s been allegedly given a warchest of an obscene £200 million to play with.

It’s important, it must be said, for Guardiola to get in on the action now. With United also giving their new, though obviously inferior, guy in charge around about the same amount of money, the race is on for some of the top stars available in the World. Never mind what clubs with more money than sense like Bayern Munich and Real Madrid will be throwing around.

Pep’s football style is unique, possession and passing dominated and fiercely attack orientated. In an effort to see the team rebuild entirely to fit his ethos, you can expect a plethora of new signings and a passing of the old guard this summer that Citizens likely haven’t witnessed in years. Roberto Mancini’s squad have, but for a few new notable exceptions, run their course. Manuel Pellegrini largely failed to improve on the line-up and the changes required to right the ship immediately mean that there’s literally no time to waste.
