Raheem Sterling

Caused some difficulties but it is fair to say his early season flourish has dried up a little in the last 3 games. Always willing to run and battle but not involved for long periods of the game and did not seem to wish to get more involved. Hoping he will put in a blistering show against Watford at the weekend as he must have conserved some energy.

Gabriel Jesus

Always takes a few games once back from injury to get right up to speed and this is one game down. He is unlucky really because he had just reached a good moment before being ruled out. His running was important in the press against Shakhtar and he did well with his goal. I like to see the high energy press in action and hope we will see more of it in the coming games. I feel this is an important season for Jesus who should really be staking a claim to a starting spot this year.

Riyad Mahrez

Another great performance from Mahrez who is looking better with each game. Needs a lengthy run in our team to really meet his potential but so far looks like he actually believes he is worthy to play, which did not seem to be the case last season. Sharp and focussed he took his goal really well which was a difficult strike in itself. His movement and assist for the Gundogan goal was also sublime. Hoping that against watford he really shows us again what he can do.
