The Substitutes and Man of the Match
Kevin De Bruyne
Resting Kevin De Bruyne given his current form is a brave decision by Pep. When he came on though he did not really change the flow of the game, as though he slipped into the malaise effecting the rest of the team as soon as he crossed the white line. Disappointing.
Player Rating 5
Gabriel Jesus
Coming back from injury so will need some time although it is difficult to recall his contribution to the match, even on second viewing. Bringing on a second striker was a last ditch attempt to prise a result out of disaster but it did not work.
Player Rating 5
Riyad Mahrez
Another player of limited impact. Did not do anything to warrant being selected above Bernardo in the next game. This should be exactly the kind of game where he can make a difference but he seems to be the antidote to an impact sub.

Man of the Match
This has genuinely caused much discussion at Man City Square Towers. How do you pick the man of the match based on these performances? It is like being forced to pick your favourite pallbearer at a funeral.
There were examples of brilliance amongst the Norwich players – some of whom may have turned in their best ever performances, but the City contingent were strangely dismal. Picking the least worst performance in blue is a daunting task.
On balance we have decided to give this award to Sergio Aguero. Although it was not his finest performance, he did keep up his record of scoring in every game this season and took his goal well. let us hope that against Shaktar in midweek we have more to write about!
