The Attack
Riyad Mahrez
Mahrez is rapidly turning into a marmite player, beset by strong and opposed opinions. He was not the worst player on the pitch and was presumably deployed due to his defensive abilities. These were needed but mainly involved getting in the way rather than challenging. In offensive phasse he was unlucky with some of his passing.

Sergio Aguero
In a narrow game the failure to score an early penalty came back to haunt us. That away goal would have been vital to help secure our passage to the next round. He bustled around and ended up coming increasingly deep to find the ball. Did not pose much threat.
Player Rating 6
Raheem Sterling
Looked as though he would be our best hope for a goal but was too often isolated from the rest of play as others failed to keep pace. There were times when if he had the pace of Sane alongside they would have secured a chance. Created the penalty opportunity and was generally harried and bustled off the ball all match.
