Raheem Sterling

Gave Schalke a torrid time with his relentless attacking. Hugged the wing to create the space and also received an amusing dressing down from Guardiola for not tracking back and helping out the defence. Took his goal so well with his new found deadly accuracy. It was also quite emotional to see the joy with which he took the captains armband.

Sergio Aguero

Very busy until he was withdrawn to save his legs. Took the penalty with outrageous panache and the second goal opened the flood gates. Staying on his feet and poking the ball home. The joy he had after scoring. Absolutely top player.

Leroy Sane

It was good to see Leroy back at his very best because if we really are to win on all fronts then we need him in this kind of scintillating form. Today he scored 1 goal, had 3 assists and even had the time to have another goal disallowed for offside. The perfect wing play example.
