People are already talking about the title being won. As a City fan who remembers the Manchester City of the 1980’s and 1990’s I am reluctant to jump onboard that particular train just yet.

I will, however, admit that we are now safe from relegation! Having secured more than the well acknowledged 40 points.

Sure, the eleven points difference, along with much superior goal difference, means City have to lose four more games from the final 22 fixtures than our nearest rival.

I do have a feeling that when the Champions League starts up again we may sacrifice Premier League points for progression in the European competition. That could certainly give sides enough to gain ground on us as we sprint to the final games.
