Analysis

The Chilean goalkeeper had a rough 2016-17 season with Manchester. After joining the Citizens with much fanfare, Bravo found himself on the bench as Willy Caballero became the No. 1 keeper. Even though the Argentinian left the club for Chelsea, Ederson was immediately brought in to compete with Bravo. With a hefty transfer fee, it seems reasonable to pencil the Brazilian in as the first choice keeper.

Despite the addition, Bravo is willing to fight for his place. If he can regain form and confidence he once had, Bravo can certainly be a starting goalkeeper in the Premier League. His distribution that Pep so coveted was still noticeable last season. It is hard to discredit a player’s career over just one season.

His fate might not be in his hands. It is reported that Lille is interested in taking on the Chilean. Newly appointed manager Marco Bielsa has a good relationship with Bravo, and the goalkeeper can do with a change of scenery. This could be a win-win situation for all sides.

Verdict: KEEP

In my eyes, he stays. I refuse to believe that goalkeeper of his stature can be destroyed so easily. Also, he seems to be a better backup option than anyone else out there. Bravo will be lifted from real pressure to perform and this can hopefully boost his confidence to a new level.
