First Centerback – Vincent Kompany
With John Stones still out due to a muscle problem, Vincent Kompany’s importance to Manchester City’s back-line has increased. Kompany has started the last few matches, including scoring a goal in the Citizens 3-0 victory at Southampton on April 15th. His leadership is important to Manchester City’s hopes of fixing their defensive problems, while he is always a threat offensively on corners and free kicks. Kompany’s main issue has been staying healthy, but if he can continue this season, there is no reason why he cannot start in 2017-18.
