Second Centerback – Nicolas Otamendi

Otamendi may have had some doubters earlier in the season, but his play of late has been superb. Partnered with John Stones mostly this season, the two have improved their play together and helped the team be more consistent defensively. He has seen time in 31 matches so far this season, and I expect him and Stones to continue starting for Pep in 2017. He isn’t afraid to throw his body around for the team, while his ability in the air is an added bonus.
