#5 – City Women get the Double!

The Manchester City Women’s team didn’t just have a good year, or even a great year. It was a historic year. They ran the entire 2016 league campaign undefeated – 13 wins and two draws. A positive 32 goal differential, they ran away with the league.

Claiming their first league title, was joined by their second ever Cup victory. Defeating Birmingham City 1-0 in the final, October saw the team lift two trophies. Making the year even better, they secured a first ever away victory in European action, and secured a spot in the quarterfinals of the Women’s Champions League.
